encouraging signs on election day

Lines were super long this morning at Arlington voting locations. Analysts are predicting a larger than usual turn out for these midterm elections.

This could mean one of two things:

  1. That people are so over the status quo, with the many years of GOP rule. They’re thirsty for change and proactively seeking it by voting. The tide is turning and Dems are leading the charge.
  2. Republicans are so worried that the Dems might get a majority in both houses that they’re packing the voting centers in droves, hoping to keep the GOP in power.

Another encouraging sign from WaPo.com: an open forum on people’s opinions on VA’s question #1 (the marriage amendment to the state constitution). The majority of responses have included the words, “I voted no.”

Whatever your reason, please go out and vote today…unless you’re a Tan Nguyen supporter in my home district in Cali.
